SEOUL, Oct. 22 (Yonhap) -- Veteran comedian Lee Kyung-kyu booked for driving under the influence of drugs in June has been indicted for summary trial, judicial officials said Wednesday.
The Seoul Central District Prosecutors Office summarily indicted Lee on charges of violating the Road Traffic Act on Tuesday, demanding a fine of 2 million won (US$1,400), they said.
A summary indictment is a request to the court for a summary order to impose a fine or penalty through a written hearing without a formal trial for minor offenses.
Lee was accused of driving someone else's vehicle, the same model as his, under the influence of panic disorder drugs on June 8 in southern Seoul after a valet mistakenly gave him the wrong car.
