Krafton to host international Battlegrounds competition in Seoul this week
SEOUL, Sept. 5 (Yonhap) -- Krafton Inc., a South Korean game developer, said Thursday it will host an international esports competition for its global hit battle royale, PUBG: Battlegrounds, in Seoul this week.
The PUBG Nations CUP (PNC) 2024 is set to kick off at Kyung Hee University in Seoul on Friday for a three-day run. Sixteen national teams from across the world, including defending champion South Korea, the United States, Vietnam, China and Australia, will participate.
This year's PNC is the main event of the inaugural Game Esports Seoul hosted by the Seoul city government.
The base prize pool is US$300,000, with an additional 25 percent of the revenue from commemorative item sales at PNC 2024 to be distributed to the participating teams based on their final standings.
A total of 18 matches will take place to determine winners based on a combination of kill points and placement points from all matches, according to Krafton.
