SEOUL, March. 2 (Yonhap) -- South Korean girl band Brave Girls is gearing up for its return, releasing teaser photos indicative of a stylistic shift on Tuesday. In the photos the members convey a more serious and mature side.
Set to drop on March 7, the band's fourth EP "Rollin'" boasts five tracks including its lead single, also called "Rollin'." The song is an up-tempo EDM number and its lyrics address a lovelorn protagonist hesitating to tell her true feelings to her love interest.
A big part of success in the mainstream of K-pop -- a red ocean with hundreds of similar types of artists -- should be how identifiable the artist can be to the public. As the domestic workout and fitness sensation got bigger in Korea and a slew of female fitness trainers gained publicity, Brave Girls took advantage of the trend. The visual and sonic effects of its members' statuesque figures and boisterous and energetic ditties perfectly fit into the hype.
With "Rollin'," however, Brave Girls takes aim at foraying into wider artistic reaches and reaching a milestone that leads to a blossoming career.
