SEOUL, June 13 (Yonhap) -- Yonhap News Agency, South Korea's key newswire service, has published its English-language "Korea Annual 2016" that summarizes all of the main events and issues that defined the country in 2015 in a variety of subjects.
This year's edition aims to better inform foreign government organizations, businesses and people about South Korea in a comprehensive manner. It is also the only English-language almanac published in the country.
The almanac contains all of the latest information on South Korea and covers a wide range of subjects including politics, economy, society, culture, sports and North Korean issues.
In particular, the almanac provides detailed coverage of such significant events from 2015 as the outbreak of Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) in South Korea, the death of former President Kim Young-sam, President Park Geun-hye's participation in a military parade in China, and the South Korea-Japan deal on the comfort women issue.
This easy-to-use handbook also includes a chronology of Korea in 2015, and key statistics on relevant data have been included. Also this year, the almanac's layout has been enhanced with photos and graphics.
It is an essential tool for anyone looking to maintain an in-depth understanding of the complex fabric of Korea's evolving society, culture and business landscape.
The 496-page, semi-hardcover almanac is priced at 30,000 won (US$30).
