On 1st January 2025, the ASN and IRSN became the French Authority for Nuclear Safety and Radiation Protection - ASNR
The ASNR, the French Nuclear Safety and Radiation Protection Authority, has been combining the missions and activities of the ASN and the IRSN since 1 January 2025, in accordance with the law of 21 May 2024 on the organisation of nuclear safety and radiation protection governance to meet the challenge of reviving the nuclear industry.
The ASNR website www.asnr.fr has been available online since that date, in French and, for certain content, in English (en.asnr.fr). This website is transitional. To date, it offers ASNR publications and presents its news in the fields of research, expertise, control and regulation, as well as news relating to the international activities of its members and dialogue initiatives with society.
All content relating to control and regulatory missions published up to 31 December 2024 by the ASN and then by the ASNR since 1 January 2025 is available on this website (reglementation-controle.asnr.fr and regulation-oversight.asnr.fr).
All content relating to research and expertise missions published up to 31 December 2024 by the IRSN and then by the ASNR since 1 January 2025 is available on the websites recherche-expertise.asnr.fr and research-assessment.asnr.fr.
A major overhaul is currently underway. Ultimately, this will bring together the content of the reglementation-controle.asnr.fr website (formerly www.asn.fr) and the content of the recherche-expertise.asnr.fr website (formerly www.irsn.fr) on a single website.
